The Harvard Sentences is a test for communications systems, made during World War II. It's a set of standardized phrases comprised of 72 different lists with 10 lines of dialog each.
It uses every possible noise a person can pick up with their ears. It's used to balance everything from cell phones to VoIP.
After the 2020 pandemic, I was in a place where I wasn’t sure how I wanted to continue.
I was working on an idea for a website when I found myself hanging out with my friend Cade more. Cade is an ever-ready tinder for good conversation.
One day we came up with the idea to start a podcast.
On the 7th of June 2021, the first episode of OnTheContrarySLC aired. It was two hours of the two of us talking.
On the 2nd of May 2022, we released our last episode. We had completed a total of 46 weekly episodes at an average of 31 downloads per episode.
We interviewed 45 artists, entrepreneurs, and community members in Utah. We interviewed people from Moab to past college professors and semi-pro disk golfers.
After an interview, the process would leave me with new ideas and questions to explore. My vocabulary flourished in order to further form and explore these new concepts.
In the end, I invested about $4,000 into the equipment. We reached a total of 1,422 downloads with our last episode getting 66 downloads.
